The world’s premier international action sports competition, X Games Chiba 2026, is returning to Chiba once again. On July 4 (Sat) and 5 (Sun), 2026, the world’s top athletes in skateboarding, BMX, and Moto X (freestyle motocross) will gather at Makuhari Messe.
This year’s event will once again feature live music performances, a wide variety of food and beverage areas, street fashion and sports gear shops, hands-on activity zones, and many other attractions beyond the competitions themselves. Visitors will be able to enjoy a full day of entertainment with family and friends.
What is the world’s premier international action sports competition, X Games?
X Games was founded in the United States in 1995 and has continued for more than 30 years as one of the most iconic events in action sports history. For action sports athletes, it is truly a dream stage.
The event has attracted more than 6 million spectators across 13 countries worldwide, while broadcasts distributed through sports network ESPN reach 500 million households in 192 countries, continuing to draw global attention year after year.
Fans will have the chance to experience up close the thrilling tricks and world-class performances delivered by the sport’s top athletes. The breathtaking moments, roaring crowd atmosphere, and overall energy of the venue combine to create a truly unforgettable experience that stimulates all the senses.
And the greatest appeal of X Games Chiba 2026 is the luxury of experiencing skateboarding, BMX, and Moto X all within a single event.
The competition will feature Olympic disciplines such as Skateboard Street Men/Women, Skateboard Park Men/Women, and BMX Park Men/Women. In addition, fans can enjoy Skateboard Vert Men/Women, a discipline with deep roots and lasting popularity within skateboarding culture, as well as BMX Street, where riders perform tricks on courses modeled after urban obstacles such as handrails and stair sets.
The event will also include Moto X, showcasing breathtaking tricks performed on freestyle motocross bikes. Altogether, 15 disciplines across three sports are scheduled to take place over the two days of July 4 (Sat) and 5 (Sun).

General ticket sales through various ticket agencies will begin simultaneously at noon on Wednesday, May 20. Information regarding the competition schedule and participating athletes will be announced soon.
Action sports enter a new era! Athletes battle for victory in both individual and team competitions.
Action sports are entering a new era with the launch of the X Games League (XGL), where four mixed-gender teams in skateboarding and BMX will compete for the season championship starting this year.
As in previous years, athletes will still battle for medals in individual competitions at each event. In addition, across this summer’s X Games events in Sacramento, Chiba, and New Orleans, four X Games Clubs (XC) teams will compete for the overall team title.
The four teams are based in globally recognized hubs of creativity and action sports: Los Angeles, New York City, São Paulo, and Tokyo. Each team consists of 10 athletes — five men and five women from skateboarding and BMX disciplines — featuring diverse nationalities and age groups. Team city names are not connected to the athletes’ nationalities.
Fans will be able to support their favorite teams and athletes throughout the season, creating an even more exciting way to experience action sports than ever before.

Since 1126, when Tsuneshige Chiba established his residence near Inohana, the city of Chiba has continued to develop as a center where people, goods, and culture come together, transforming the changes of each era into opportunities for growth. This year, we celebrate the significant milestone of the 900th anniversary of Chiba’s founding.
