On March 14th and 15th, 2026, the “DOUBLE DUTCH CONTEST JAPAN 2026,” a festival to determine the best in Japan, was held at the Nihon University College of Humanities and Sciences Centennial Hall.
This event also served as the qualifier for the “DOUBLE DUTCH CONTEST WORLD INVITATIONAL 2026,” to be held in Hong Kong on July 19th. Elite teams from across the country clashed for a ticket to the world stage. The highlight was the “Performance Senior Division” on Day 2, where top-tier athletes aged 15 and older packed technical skill and entertainment into a condensed 2-minute stage.
DAY 1 Highlights: Next Generation Elite Gather!
On Day 1, heated battles took place across the ALL AGES, KIDS, and JUNIOR divisions. All eyes were particularly focused on the JUNIOR division, as it serves as a pathway to the World Contest.

DAY 2: Pushing the Limits in 30-Second Speed
The first event of Day 2 was the 30-Second Speed. In this discipline, a team of three—consisting of two turners and one jumper—takes on the challenge. It is a simple yet high-tension competition where athletes compete to see how many jumps they can complete in just 30 seconds.
Jumpers cross the ropes using an alternating step-over technique, with each time the right foot touches the ground counting as one jump. In this brief 30-second battle, both raw speed and the seamless coordination of the three members are put to the ultimate test.

After an intense and closely contested battle, a tie in rankings led to an expansion of the usual five qualification spots for Worlds to six teams. The teams earning their tickets to Hong Kong were officially decided.

— Now that you’ve won, could you share your honest thoughts?
To be honest, I never really expected to win the senior division, so I’m incredibly happy that we were able to give our best performance and achieve first place.
— During your preparation for this competition, was there anything you focused on in particular?
For this competition, our goal was to reach 130 counts (counting only one foot over 30 seconds). To achieve that, we focused on increasing our pace in the first 10 seconds—training ourselves to hit 42 counts within that time, which would put us on track for 130 in 30 seconds.
— With about three months left until the World contest, how do you plan to spend this time as a team?
We want to continue building on the training methods we’ve been using so far and further strengthen our abilities. At the same time, we hope to keep motivating each other and approach our training with a high level of energy and commitment as a team.
— Lastly, could you share your determination heading into the World contest?
Rosy☆Lily is originally a four-member team, but we are currently competing as three. We’ve been able to achieve strong results in speed events, but at the last ALL JAPAN (the national championship for the competitive division), we fell short and were left with frustration. That’s why we’re really happy to have achieved the title of Japan’s best this time.
At Worlds, we want to continue pushing each other as a team and give it our all—just like we always do—trusting in our spirit, our mindset, and the hard work we’ve put in. We’re determined to achieve a result of over 130 and proudly share that with everyone!
Performance Senior Division: World-Class Expression
Evaluation is based on two pillars: “Technique” (jumper and turner skills) and “Entertainment” (music, choreography, and staging).
Six teams earned their spot for the World Invitational in Hong Kong.The team that claimed a brilliant victory was Junk Swing, composed of members from the Kansai region. From the music arrangement to the performance itself, their stage was a true reflection of their unique style and identity.
1st Place: Junk Swing
Consisting of members from the Kansai region, Junk Swing locked the venue with a showcase that expressed their unique identity. They blended various dance genres from all seven members with original rope work, delivering a perfect performance that showcased the boundless possibilities of Double Dutch.
2nd Place: Millennium Collection
A high-momentum team active across various professional cultures. They utilized their vast experience to deliver a “flavor” only they could produce. Their flawless performance early in the fourth set captured the audience immediately, showing an overwhelming difference in their ability to engage the crowd.
3rd Place: BAN FOOT
A 4-member team that delivered a high-completion performance using the entire floor. Their content was engaging, featuring well-timed high-speed steps and acrobatics that kept the audience hooked until the very end

“This team has a special bond; we gathered two years ago promising to win with these members. It was a ‘do or die’ situation for us, so I’m glad we decided it here. We believed everything we had was unique. One of our members, Mickey, had to withdraw due to a leg injury, but we want to go to Hong Kong together and grab that world title!”
