On January 7 (Tue.) and 8 (Wed.), the TOKIO INKARAMI presents PARKOUR PREMIER CUP 2025 New Year Special in Sapporo was held in Sapporo for the third consecutive year.

In the women’s division, Nene Nagai (TOKIO INKARAMI), a member of last year’s Japanese national team at the World Championships, secured a commanding victory, finishing more than four points ahead of second place.

In the men’s division, Kaito Onuki (TOKIO INKARAMI) scored the first-ever 30-point mark in a domestic competition with a 30.0, claiming his second consecutive Premier Cup title following his win in Gifu last year.

Guest spectator for the final round, Ai Mori, a Paris Olympic sport climbing representative, commented:
“I hope parkour and climbing can continue to grow together as action sports. Let’s keep working hard this year as well.”

I was really nervous. I had put a lot of pressure on myself, thinking about how Saira had completed everything cleanly and worrying about what would happen if I made a mistake. Mentally, it was tough before I started—I was almost in tears. But I’m glad I was able to finish without any major mistakes.

[After the scores were announced and she was confirmed as the winner]
At the Premier Cup in Sapporo two years ago, I couldn’t win and finished second, so the memory of Sapporo had become something like a personal trauma for me, which made it really scary to compete here again.

But winning this time gave me a lot of confidence. I’ve also already secured a spot at this year’s World Championships, so this was a very valuable experience toward that goal.

I don’t even feel like I’ve finished my run yet—it feels like there’s still more to come.
For my final trick, I originally planned to end safely with a single-twist backflip. But the landing from the previous trick went so well that it naturally turned into a much bigger move. I got too hyped and my emotions just took over.

I think it might be the first 30-point score in a domestic competition. I was honestly surprised myself after such a long time.

[After winning the title]
Time felt like it was moving way too fast. It feels strange—like I was just saying “Happy New Year” recently, and now I’m suddenly winning a parkour competition. I still can’t fully process it, but I’m truly happy.

I felt that each athlete had a very distinct personality, and the way they respected and praised each other reminded me of climbing as well. It inspired me personally, and I hope parkour and climbing can continue to grow together as action sports and elevate each other.

It was my first time watching a parkour competition, and it was a really great experience. Let’s all do our best together in 2025.

It was a competition that made me feel physically tense just from watching. So many legendary moments were created—it truly became a New Year Special worthy event. It was outstanding.

This was the first competition of 2025, and likely one of the earliest in the world. A new course was introduced, the highest domestic score was achieved, and in such a spacious and comfortable venue, it felt like the perfect start to the year.

I believe that through parkour, we were able to deliver emotion, surprise, and the appeal of the sport both to the audience in the venue and those watching the broadcast. Thank you everyone for your hard work.
