Action sports enter a new era! This year, in addition to individual competitions, a new team-based league, the “X Games League (XGL),” will launch. A new battle for the top spot in both individual and team competitions is about to begin. The second event, “X Games Chiba 2026” (of which the first three events will be held in Sacramento, USA, and the third in New Orleans, USA), will be held on July 4th (Sat) and 5th (Sun) at Makuhari Messe.
Set in Chiba’s Makuhari district, one of Japan’s leading entertainment hubs, the event will bring together world-class athletes in skateboarding, BMX, and Moto X. In addition to action sports competitions, a diverse program including live music, food festivals, and fan-participation content will deliver an unforgettable weekend.
The 77 participating athletes from 17 countries and the events to be held each day have been announced. Furthermore, the music live event on Saturday, July 4th will feature a performance by the seven-member male group IMP., and their song “BAM-BOO” has been chosen as the tournament’s theme song for the third consecutive year!
This year, music and spatial design will be added to the action sports, transforming the competition venue into a live concert space through lighting effects and DJ sets. Tickets will go on sale simultaneously at various ticket agencies starting Wednesday, May 20th.
The 3 sports and 15 events to be held each day have been announced.
This year’s X Games will feature a record-breaking 3 sports and 15 events. Furthermore, with enhanced entertainment elements such as DJ sets and live music, it will offer a new kind of X Games experience that transcends the boundaries of traditional sports spectating.
On July 4th (Saturday), a variety of competitions will be held, including the Men’s Skateboarding Street Best Trick, Women’s Skateboarding Street, Men’s and Women’s Skateboarding Vert, Men’s BMX Street, Men’s BMX Park, the first-ever Women’s BMX Park competition in Japan, and the thrilling Moto X Best Trick. The powerful performances of world-class athletes will electrify the venue.
In addition to DJ sets and side acts, there will also be a live music performance by the 7-member male group IMP. Enjoy a festival experience unique to the X Games that goes beyond just competition.
On July 5th (Sunday), the Men’s Skateboarding Street, Women’s Skateboarding Street Best Trick, Men’s and Women’s Skateboarding Park, Men’s and Women’s Skateboarding Vert Best Trick, and Men’s BMX Park Best Trick will be held. High-level tricks will be showcased one after another in each competition, creating an exciting and thrilling battle unique to the final day.
In addition to DJ sets and side acts, there will also be live music (to be announced soon) and a Moto X demonstration. It will be a day where sports and entertainment merge, making it unmissable until the very end.
77 top athletes from 17 countries around the world will gather in Chiba.
〈Men’s Skatebording Street〉
The competition will feature Sora Shirai (XC Tokyo), who won his first gold medal at “X Games Chiba 2024,” as well as Kairi Netsuke, Toa Sasaki (XC Tokyo), and Ginwoo Onodera (XC New York). Kairi Netsuke is one of the riders who is making his presence felt on the world stage with his high level of skill. Toa Sasaki is also attracting attention as a rapidly improving new generation skater.
Among the international competitors, Olympic medalist Jaggar Eaton (Free Agent competing for XC New York) will be competing, along with world-class skaters Jamie Foy, Chris Joslin, and Dashawn Jordan (XC Los Angeles). Furthermore, South Korea’s rising star Juni Kang, who won the first X Games medal for a Korean skater at “X Games Osaka” in 2025, and Brazil’s promising Filipe Mota (XC Los Angeles), Giovanni Vianna (XC São Paulo), and Julian Agliadi will also be participating. You won’t want to miss this high-level battle where speed, technique, and creativity clash among the world’s top riders.
〈Women’s skateboarding street〉
The competition features top Japanese female skateboarders, including Paris Olympic gold medalist Coco Yoshizawa (XC Tokyo), Momiji Nishiya (XC New York), who made history in Japanese skateboarding at the Tokyo Olympics, Paris Olympic silver medalists liz Akama (XC Los Angeles) and Yumeka Oda (XC Tokyo), Ibuki Matsumoto (XC São Paulo), who won her first world championship last November, and Miyuu Ito.
Coco Yoshizawa boasts world-class consistency and skill, while Yumeka Oda is one of the riders attracting attention worldwide. From overseas, Chloe Covell (XC New York), who continues to compete at the top level at a young age, and Gabriela Mazetto (XC São Paulo) from Brazil will also participate.
Furthermore, Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Funa Nakayama will compete in the Best Trick competition.
〈Men’s Skateboarding Park〉
The event brings together top riders from around the world, including two-time Olympic gold medalist Keegan Palmer, 2024 Paris Olympic silver medalist and 17-time X Games medalist Tom Shaar (XC Los Angeles), and Brazilian prodigy Gui Khury (XC São Paulo), who has broken numerous records since his teens.
Furthermore, Tate Carew (XC New York), Gavin Bottger, Luigi Cini (XC São Paulo), Egoitz Bifuesca, and Kiefer Wilson will also be competing. The dynamic battles unique to park riding, where height, speed, and creative line selection come together, are sure to be a highlight.
〈Women’s Skateboard Park〉
The event will feature Paris Olympic gold medalist Arisa Trew (XC Tokyo), who has dominated the X Games in recent years, as well as Sky Brown (XC São Paulo), who won bronze medals at both the Tokyo and Paris Olympics, and Cocona Hiraki (XC Los Angeles), who won silver medals at both Olympics. Mizuho Hasegawa (XC Tokyo) will represent Japan.
Furthermore, world-class riders such as Raicca Ventura (XC São Paulo), Lilly Erickson (XC Los Angeles), Heili Sirvio (XC New York), and Bryce Wettstein (XC New York) will also be competing. High-flying airs, flowing lines, and high-difficulty tricks will be performed one after another.
〈Men’s Skateboard Vert〉
The event will feature world-class riders, including Moto Shibata (XC Tokyo), who boasts a record 10 X Games medals for a Japanese male. From Japan, Soya Inomata, who is making his presence felt in domestic and international competitions, will compete alongside promising young rider Ema Kawakami. International competitors include Brazilian prodigy Gui Khury (XC São Paulo), Tom Shaar (XC Los Angeles), who boasts 17 X Games medals, as well as JD Sanchez, Tate Carew (XC New York), and Luigi Cini (XC São Paulo). The breathtaking airs and extremely difficult tricks performed from the top of the giant ramp will electrify the venue.
Furthermore, Ao Nishikawa will compete in the Best Trick competition. His one-shot, extremely difficult tricks are definitely worth watching.
〈Women’s skateboarding vert〉
Mizuho Hasegawa (XC Tokyo) is the only Japanese rider competing. Furthermore, Arisa Trew (XC Tokyo) and Sky Brown (XC São Paulo) both have Japanese mothers and are attracting significant attention domestically as riders with deep Japanese roots.
In addition, world-class riders such as Mia Kretzer (XC Los Angeles), Raicca Ventura (XC São Paulo), Reiss Nelson, Lili Stephasius, and Bryce Wettstein (XC New York), who are making their presence felt as next-generation riders, will also be participating.
〈Men’s BMX Street〉
The event will feature legends such as Garrett Reynolds (XC São Paulo), who boasts one of the most impressive track records in X Games history, Boyd Hilder, popular for his unique style and overwhelming technique, and Kevin Peraza (XC Tokyo), who captivates audiences with his world-class skills and flashy riding.
Furthermore, world-class riders such as Jordan Godwin, Felix Prangenberg, Matt Ray, Devon Smillie, and Courage Adams will also participate. The event promises to be a showcase of the creativity and high-difficulty tricks unique to BMX street, where riders effortlessly conquer rails, handrails, and obstacles.
〈Men’s BMX Park〉
Rim Nakamura (XC Tokyo), who won his first X Games title in 2025, will be competing. Among the international competitors are Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Logan Martin (XC New York), Paris Olympic gold medalist José Torres Gil, and Paris Olympic bronze medalist Anthony Jeanjean.
Furthermore, world-class riders such as Justin Dowell, Daniel Sandoval (XC New York), Kevin Peraza (XC Tokyo), and Marcus Christopher (XC Los Angeles) will also be participating.
The Best Trick competition will feature world-class trick machines such as Ryan Williams (São Paulo), Brady Baker (XC Los Angeles), and Mike Varga. The BMX park, with its height, speed, and continuous string of extremely difficult tricks, promises breathtaking aerial battles that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
〈Women’s BMX Park〉
In the women’s BMX Park event, which is being introduced for the first time in a domestic competition, Miharu Ozawa (XC Tokyo) will represent Japan. Ozawa, who has honed her skills with her family in a homemade park at home, is a promising young rider who achieved the remarkable feat of winning her first UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup in 2025 and also winning the overall championship for the year.
Among the international competitors, world-class riders will gather, including Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Hannah Roberts (XC New York), Paris Olympic silver medalist Perris Venegas (XC Los Angeles), Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Nikita Ducarroz, as well as Lara Lessmann, Kim Lea Müller, Macarena Perez, and Queen Saray (XC São Paulo).
〈Moto X Best Tricks〉
Takayuki Higashino and Genki Watanabe, two of Japan’s leading FMX riders, will be competing. Higashino has been a long-time leader in the Japanese FMX scene, competing on the world’s highest stage. Watanabe has made a name for himself with his spectacular and original tricks, competing against the world’s top riders.
Among the international competitors, top talents such as Jackson Strong, a representative of the Moto X world, Rob Adelberg, Ben Richards, and Tom Richards will be participating. This is one of the most iconic “X Games” events, featuring a series of incredibly difficult tricks that push the limits of human capability.

The X Games have ushered in a new era. Introducing a league system—a first in action sports history—four club teams will clash for a total prize pool of $500,000 and the title of the inaugural champion.
The four teams are based in major action sports hubs around the world: Los Angeles, New York, São Paulo, and Tokyo. Each team consists of 10 members—five men and five women—from skateboarding and BMX. The teams boast diverse nationalities and age groups, creating a truly varied lineup.

The music live event on Saturday, July 4th will feature IMP., a seven-member male group known for their stylish music and overwhelming performances. Furthermore, IMP.’s song “BAM-BOO” has been selected as the theme song for this year’s tournament.
