First held in 2022, YOKOHAMA URBAN SPORTS FESTIVAL (YUSF) will return to the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse for a two-day event on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18. This sports festival brings together urban sports competitions and street culture—the very root of these sports—creating an event packed with opportunities to “Watch, Experience, and Enjoy.” Last year, the festival welcomed approximately 70,000 visitors.
Marking its 5th edition, this year’s festival will feature athletes active both in Japan and internationally across eight disciplines: Skateboarding, Breaking, BMX Flatland, Double Dutch, Parkour, Parkour Tag (Paru-oni), 3X3, and Freestyle Football. Furthermore, this year’s Breaking competition will host the “JAPAN OPEN 2026,” organized by the Japan DanceSport Federation. High-level dance battles featuring athletes gathered from across Japan are a must-see!
In addition, visitors can look forward to a wide range of activities over the two days, including hands-on experience sessions where people of all ages can easily try out urban sports, a Street Culture Market filled with attractive apparel items and experiential booths, and the concurrently held American food festival “ALL AMERICAN FOOD FESTIVAL ’26.”
Concurrently Held: American Food Festival “ALL AMERICAN FOOD FESTIVAL ’26”!
ALL AMERICAN FOOD FESTIVAL ’26 (AAFF) is a culinary event at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse gathering American gourmet food. Food trucks serving authentic American food and drinks—the homeland of many urban sports—will set up shop, allowing you to immerse yourself in street culture through food alongside exciting sports viewing. Come enjoy an autumn of “Food × Sports” with your family and friends!

Skateboarding
Skateboarding embraces various styles, such as Park and Vert. YUSF adopts the “Street” style, where skaters compete on a course designed with obstacles found in urban environments like stairs and rails. This is a high-profile discipline where Japanese athletes continue to make major strides at the world’s top level. Once again, hot battles competing for prize money are set to begin.

Breaking
Born from hip-hop culture, Breaking is a dance style where athletes compete on musicality, originality, and skill. Talented B-BOYs and B-GIRLS from all over Japan will gather here. This year, they will engage in high-level battles at the “JAPAN OPEN 2026,” hosted by the Japan DanceSport Federation (JDSF BREAKING).

BMX Flatland
A discipline where riders maneuver their BMX bikes on a flat stage without using structures like ramps. Thanks to their skillful bike control, it is often described as “dancing on a bicycle.” Top male and female athletes performing domestically and internationally, including past international competition champions, are scheduled to compete at YUSF. Their brilliant stage performances are not to be missed.

Double Dutch
A street-born sport where jumpers perform tricks and acrobatics inside two turning ropes. Originating in New York, this culture has expanded globally to the point where top-tier competitions are held worldwide. Key highlights include lightning-fast footwork and dynamic acrobatics executed with perfect synchronization. YUSF will feature a battle-style tournament, adding heat and vitality to the stage once again.

Parkour
A dynamic urban sport based on fundamental movements like running, jumping, and climbing. Athletes use structures such as walls to jump across and roll into safe landings while spinning. The ultimate appeal lies in thrilling, captivating actions where athletes navigate their environment using nothing but their physical bodies. YUSF offers a rare opportunity to witness top athletes’ otherworldly performances up close.

Parkour Tag (Paru-oni)
The ultimate tag sport, commonly known as “Paru-oni,” combines the familiar game of tag with elements of parkour. Its main feature is that anyone can intuitively enjoy it, regardless of specialized technical skills. Seeing athletes sprint at full speed through the course is pure dynamism, and the thrilling action keeps spectators completely hooked.

Freestyle Football
Freestyle Football elevates soccer techniques like juggling and dribbling into an artistic performance. Japan is currently home to many world-class athletes, making this a highly anticipated, high-level competition. At YUSF, expectations are high for intense 1-on-1 battles where players collide with exceptional skill and creativity.

3X3 (Three-X-Three)
The official 3-on-3 basketball format originating from street basketball. Played on a half-court, its signature feature is the fast and dynamic pace driven by a 12-second shot clock. Skilled players active both in Japan and abroad will gather to deliver powerful play up close. Enjoy the intense battles set in an urban atmosphere fused with live DJ music.
